The Galway Kinnell Poetry Contest began several years ago and then went dormant. Resurrected in 2015 by Rhode Island poet, Patti McAlpine in conjunction with the Pawtucket Arts Festival and supported by grants from the Pawtucket Arts Panel.
This year there will be no contest. Instead a poetry festival weekend is planned to bring together former winners and other poets and artists together for workshops, readings with a social gathering, Pints and Poets planned to kick things off.
All events will be free and open to the public. Though readings will feature former Galway Kinnell contes winners and special guests, there will also be opportunity for others to join in with an open mic.
Registration for workshops and social gathering will be required. Details will be announced soon on our Events Page.
